Food Pairings for Chevalier de Lascombes Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux
External Reviews for Chevalier de Lascombes Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux
This extraordinary wine is the second label to the Classified Growth Chateau Lascombes in Margaux. In 2005, a vintage that is nothing short of legendary, we saw another outstanding success for this Chateau that has seen an incredible revival over the last several years. This wine is produced in much smaller quantity than the first label wine with all of the same grapes and winemaking techniques. After fermentation the wines are tasted and the more forward, suppler lots go into 1 year old barrels for 16 months and come out as Chevalier de Lascombes, Marguax. This is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon that is drinking beautifully right now with deep black currant, wood smoke, cedar and rich mineral tones providing all the pleasure of the first label wine for half the price.
