Chersì Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOC 2008

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Tight on the nose showing plum skin, light wood spice and vanilla tones, with a fairly intense floral top note. This is rather smooth on the palate and a touch heavy, though the acidity is nicely underpinning the wine. There’s an attractive lightness to the fruit in the mouth, which shows some Jolly Rancher grapiness before revealing a touch of black currant on the back end. Finishes with good length and freshness if simple flavors. A really nice effort that is polished and eminently drinkable without feeling overdone. 87pts
