In 1990, Harry founded Chehalem, and his hands-on approach to winemaking began. Within five years, he had expanded the winery’s estate holdings to include partnerships in Corral Creek Vineyards (adjacent to the winery) and Stoller Vineyards in the southern Dundee Hills, developed by his Chehalem partners, Bill and Cathy Stoller. Bill and Cathy Stoller are co-owners of Chehalem and owners of one of the three Estate Vineyards Chehalem uses, Stoller Vineyards, one of the most modern vineyards on a spectacular hillside locally referred to as Oregon's Corton Hill. Bill and Cathy live on-site at their 360-acre vineyard, with their twin sons, Kenny and Kyle. Chehalem traces its history back to vineyard operations started by Harry Peterson-Nedry in 1980 at Ridgecrest Vineyards, the pioneering wine operation on Ribbon Ridge, northwest of Newberg, Oregon. Bill and Cathy Stoller joined Harry in the winery in 1993 and subsequently began Stoller Vineyards—a densely planted, 125 acres on Stoller family farmlands at the southern tip of the Dundee Hills. Corral Creek Vineyards, adjacent to the winery facility, is Chehalem's third estate vineyard. Our first release was the 1990 Ridgecrest Pinot Noir. Read less

About as perfectly balanced chardonnay as you can get. Hints of oak, butter, lemon, butterscotch, grapefruit, subtle alcohol (13.5%), nice acidity and a great finish. Wife says a little too creamy but I love it.
