The outstanding 2007 Tandeacute;landeacute;gramme Chandacirc;teauneuf-du-Pape (15.8% alcohol) offers notes of kirsch liqueur, spring flowers, and framboise, medium to full body, good acidity, a beautiful texture, and a luscious, heady finish. It is best drunk over the next 5andndash;6 years.

Vivid red. Assertive aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, fresh lavender and minerals; thereandrsquo;s a pinot-like vibrancy here that I like. Brisk and sharply defined, offering tangy red berry flavors, silky texture and good mineral snap. The finish is gently sweet and impressively pure. This wine is made from young vines from the Bruniersandrsquo; Vieux Telegraphe and Domaine La Roquete.

Vieux Telegrapheandrsquo;s second wine, from what they call andldquo;youngandrdquo; vines (under 30 years of age), is called Telegramme. The label is one of the more intriguing, provocative wine labels in the world; I will say no more. The 2007 Telegramme Chateauneuf du Pape offers beautiful notes of sweet black cherries, licorice, and spice, medium to full body, a broad texture, and a sweet character from the high glycerin and ripeness. Drink this beauty over the next 10andndash;12 years.

Very ripe, fat in texture, with good concentration of luxurious plum and black fruit and a wet earth taste that continues on the lingering and balanced smoky finish, this Rhône red is simply beautiful. Drink now through 2005.

A fresh, pure, silky style, with red currant, licorice and shiso leaf notes gilding over the long, supple, minerally finish. Textbook for the vintage, with the fruit and minerality stretching out at the end. Drink now through 2017.
