Winemaker's Notes:

"In 2008, the estate only produced a single Châteauneuf-du-Pape cuvee, and its one of the wines of the vintage. A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah aged completely in concrete tank, the 2008 Domaine du Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape offers gorgeously sweet aromatics of wild strawberries, flowers, incense and roasted meat, all sitting on top of edgy underlying minerality. On the palate, its medium to full bodied, perfectly balanced, textured and very long. It is a stunning success in a difficult vintage and hats off to the two sisters...91" Rhone Report 08/10 "Solidly ripe, showing suave, rounded tannins that belie the profile of the vintage, with lovely layers of mulled plum, blackberry, fruitcake and melted licorice. There's a lingering whiff of black tea on the finish. An impressive effort for the vintage...92" WS 04/11
