User Reviews for Chateauneuf du Pape Lieu Dit Pignan Pierre Henri Morel 91-93 Rr

Winemaker's Notes:

"Offers layers of dark plum, hoisin sauce, steeped black currant, anise and boysenberry, while charcoal and graphite notes lend support from underneath. The long, dark, smoldering finish has terrific, well-integrated grip. Remarkably dense, but silky in feel. Best from 2017 through 2025...92" WS 11/13 "All from the lieu-dit Pignan and a blend of destemmed, 100% Grenache that’s aged in demi-muid, it boasts thick, decadent aromas of black fruits, toasted bread, crushed flowers, violets, and licorice. Fleshy, round, and supple on the palate, with a full-bodied, palate saturating texture, beautiful freshness, and sound structure that emerges more on the finish, this serious Châteauneuf-du-Pape should hit its stride with 3-5 years of bottle age, and have upwards of 12-15 years of longevity...91-93+" Rhone Report 09/11 "From sandy soils, the deep ruby/purple-colored, medium to full-bodied 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Lieu-Dit Pignan (100% Grenache) possesses beautiful notes of black cherries, jammy strawberries, kirsch, licorice and spring flowers. Similar to a very good vintage of Rayas, it should drink nicely for 10-12+ years...91-93" WA 10/11
