User Reviews for Chateauneuf du Pape les Olivets Roger Sabon

Winemaker's Notes:

"The opaque ruby/purple-tinged 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Olivets may be the finest Les Olivets the Sabons have yet made. It possesses full-bodied power as well as lots of kirsch, Provencal herb, balsam wood and foresty notes in a long, rich, textured format that builds incrementally in the mouth, finishing with a lot of glycerin and fruit. This 2010 should easily last for 10-12+ years. ...91" WA 10/12 "A superb offering and probably the best vintage of this cuvee I have tasted, the 2010 Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Olivets (70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Cinsault aged for 18 months in larger oak tanks) has knockout aromatics of sweet blackberry and spiced-cherry styled fruits intermixed with notions of licorice, herbs meat, and loamy earth. It is medium-bodied, beautifully fruited, and textured, with excellent structure as well as notable acidity and freshness. While the most approachable of Didier‟s 2010s, it will nevertheless benefit from short term cellaring and shine for a decade or more....91+" RR 10/12
