Châteauneuf-du-Pape le Vieux Donjon 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Le Vieux Donjon have built an international reputation for making wine of exceptional quality. Set amongst soils of limestone, clay and the unique galets roulé stones of Chateauneuf-du-Pape they strive to make wines traditionally and organically, bringing out the very best of the terroir. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate states that "This is a no nonsense estate and the wines are outstanding in just about every vintage.". "65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault. 50% destemmed and all fermented in concrete vats. Matured for 15 months in oak foudres. Very dark, savoury, racy stuff with real excitement. The non-Grenache ingredients seem to knit it all together. Sinewy and complete. Polish. Long and very satisfying." - 18/20 points, Jancis Robinson
