Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine Ferrand 97rr 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"A brilliant Châteauneuf-du-Pape that oozes class and finesse, Bravay‟s 2010 Domaine de Ferrand Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a traditionally made blend of close to 97% Grenache, with the remainder an assortment of varieties. Aged all in tank, it boasts a complex array of sweet red berry fruits, white pepper, wild flowers, and licorice that flows to a full-bodied, seamless, and elegantly put together wine that has beautiful concentration, incredible purity, and very fine, polished tannin that frame the finish. Lovers of traditionally made Châteauneuf-du-Pape should not miss this and it is the essence of Grenache when made in a more feminine, elegant style. It is certainly superb now, yet will be even better in 3-5 years, and shine for 15-20 years. (97 pts.)" Rhone Report 10/12 "There were no problems with the opaque ruby/purple-tinged 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape, which had just been bottled. This exotic red boasts notes of black truffles, roasted meats, charcuterie, incense, blackberries and black cherry liqueur intermixed with hints of roasted herbs and licorice. Full-bodied, dense and as concentrated as the estate’s extraordinary 2007, the spectacular 2010 needs 2-4 years of cellaring, and will age gracefully over the following two decades...96+" WA 10/12
