Chateauneuf du Pape Chateau la Nerthe South Rhone 2000
Powerful dark fruits with a hint of coffee and chocolate. Packed with fruit and sweet, ripe and round on the palate, yet with a firm structure. An elegant wine with smooth tannins. Pairs particularly well with stewed lamb. A blend of typical Chateauneuf varieties, Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah and Cinsault.
Château La Nerthe is the oldest producer in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, producing wine since 1560. The winery has been certified organic since 1998, and is among the region’s top five wineries. La Nerthe is a leader in the art of blending, combining up to 13 varieties - so that no one dominates.
