Slightly tight initially but opened nicely after a 2 hour decant and benefitted with some fatted food (grilled beef tenderloin), and actually paired beautifully with aged gouda after dinner. Dark fruit with beautifully balanced structure. Certainly drinkable now (but decant for several hours before consuming), but would favor holding an additional 3 to 5 years to see if some of the 3ry notes will develop.

Superbly elegant, supple and lush, featuring mineral, mint, cassis, dried herb, cedar and plum complexity, soft tannins and a seductive finish. Very tempting now, but will benefit with cellaring until about 1998. (JS) Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1993 Mission Haut Brion, La 750ml

Firm and bright, with nicely realized berry and red plum flavors, suggesting richness and suppleness under fine tannins. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1993 Haut Brion 6000ml

One of the great wines of the vintage, Haut-Brions 1993 possesses a dark garnet/plum/purple color, an expressive, fragrant, sweet, berry, blackcurrant, mineral, lead pencil, and earthy-scented nose, and medium to full-bodied, concentrated flavors th... Winemaker's Notes:

Slightly superior to the sensational 1992 Haut-Brion-Blanc, the 1993 exhibits aflattering nose of oily, mineral-scented, ripe, honeyed fruit, full-bodied,super-concentrated flavors, admirable acidity, great vibrancy and delineation, and a rich, long, dry, refreshing finish. It is a rich Haut-Brion-Blanc withmore aromatic complexity than the muscular and chewy 1992. These wines arealmost ageless (Robert Parker-Wine Advocate)
