Vintage: 2005 02/27/2009

As you move northeast of the Medieval village of St. Emilion the rolling hills become “montagnes”. This robust 2005 comes from a petite chateau on one of those choice hillsides. South-facing vineyard slopes are always a benefit but in this historic vintage they bring ripeness and grape development that approach perfection. The 30 year old vines are 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. A great wine at a great price. With a firm tannic structure this is a wine that's built for aging. Lay it down in your cellar for 3-8 years. To enjoy it now, decant it and let it breath for 1/2 to 1 hour.
