Château Vieux Landat Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc 2005

Member Review by Johnkcostello:

After starting out straight from the bottle as a "weak" wine, the "05", after 7+ hours in a decanter, became an outstanding $20 Bordeaux dinner wine. A few more years in the bottle can only suggest improvement with less decant time. Jack

The late Gabriel Fabre came originally from Morocco in the 1960's and bought Chateau Lamothe-Cissac and then bought Chateau Landat in 1976 and restored the estate. The business now has six Haut-Medoc estates and is run by his son Vincent. Chateau Landat is a 14 hectare estate with a history of winemaking going back to the 19th century and was granted Cru Bourgeois status as long ago as 1908
