Chateau Troplong Mondot Premier 5 2008
The wine is a real surprise, considering the tricky weather conditions. It displays a power and depth worthy of the greatest Bordeaux vintages. Traditional viticulture combined with an environmentally-friendly approach (no weedkillers, chemical fertilizers or pesticides). Ploughing, Cordeau bordelaise pruning (leaving two canes). De-budding in the spring. De-leafing in July then crop thinning to enhance optimal ripening of the grapes. Hand-picking with harvesting dates bases on 3 criteria: ripeness checks, tasting of berries, differences between the estate's various "terroirs"

Château Troplong Mondot is grown on extensive vineyards rich in limestone clay soils. Powerful, well-structured with pronounced complex tannins, its deep aromas of truffles and blackberries develop over time.
This is an easy 4 glass rating, probably deserves a little more. Has an aromatic nose of dark fruit and licorice perfume. The palate is dense and compact, with a good balance of fruit, minerality, licorice, and some underlying spice from the small cabernet content (5% cabernet franc, 5% cabernet sauvignon, 90% merlot). Medium, dry finish. Very classy wine with a good pedigree and place in St. Emillion. 93 points.
a nice blended wine with a slight creaminess and a crisp acid backbone; some nice fresh fruit on the nose, fairly simple.
Incredible floral nose which leads to a crisp yet oily wine with nice peach flavors. Finishes on a delicate lemon flavor.
I think we got this wine in a wine club and I can tell you I am going to find out where I can get more. What a pleasant surprise! Perfect for a hot summer night! And so elegant and balanced- medium bodied with luscious fruit/citrus- yet not too forward or sugary; and just enough acidity that you barely notice it at all. All components blended in perfect harmony unlike so many wines that seem to be overdone screaming for attention these days. Excellent on its own or with light poultry/fish dishes.

Der Wein ist vollfruchtig, mit feiner Blume. Er zeigt sich so wie seine Umgebung, herzlich, voller Kraft und eigenem Charakter.
This brilliant Torrontés is crafted in northern Argentina’s La Rioja region. The Torrontés grape, a distant cousin of Muscat, produces distinctively aromatic white wines, and we think they are some of the best bottles to come out of Argentina lately. The “Plata” is dry on the palate, with notes of mixed white flowers, yellow plums, and even some white peppercorn on the finish. Overall, it has a remarkably fresh character, enabling it to complement lighter dishes without overwhelming them. It’s fresh and surprising each and every time you open a bottle.
A classically-styled Alsatian Gewurz with floral aromas and mango and lychee flavors. A rich style yet it still has finesse. Calls for spicy tuna rolls or honey glazed ham.
