Château Troplong Mondot is grown on extensive vineyards rich in limestone clay soils. Powerful, well-structured with pronounced complex tannins, its deep aromas of truffles and blackberries develop over time.
Editorial Reviews for Chateau Troplong Mondot Grand Cru Classe France Bordeaux Red
Earthy and herbal on the nose with plenty of smoky oak, shoe polish, some tomato and a woody sweetness – rich, almost sweet fruit, a bit extracted feeling, muddy and imprecise on the mid-palate though with good density, rather stiff tannins underpinning it all (87-88)

Shows blackberry and blueberry on the nose with hints of wet earth. Medium- to full-bodied with slightly chewy tannins and lots of new wood. Really polished. Best after 2012. -JS Wine Spectator.
Nice crystal clear red color with a slightly lighter red rim. Expressive aromas of blackberry jam and dark chocolate with undertones of fresh herbs and vanilla cream. Feels great in the mouth with medium length to finish. Nice balance of fruit and acid with plenty of tannins. Alex Lallos.
Wood dominates this wine the wine itself relatively light but finely composed. There are spicy tannins with intense acidity crisp black currants bursting through the overlay of wood. Wine Enthusiast.
Tiefdunkles Purpurrot, vielversprechender Duft von schwarzen Beerenfrüchten, Unterholz und Vanille, zartsüssliche, konzentrierte Frucht, dicht gewoben, gut eingebundenes Tannin, köperreich, elegante Struktur, lange anhaltend.
Rated -No tasting note given. Robert Parker. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2007 Troplong-Mondot 1500ml
Very dark purple color. Fresh fruity and spicy nose of ripe type. Very lovely on entry the wine instantly offers its typical unctuousness. It develops melting with taste some licorice characteristics and a superbly well-finished structure. Juicy precise on the mid-palate it ends up with lift and a complex finish. The smoothness of its flesh is marvelous while its mellowness is dynamic at the same time. Coated tannins. Very good length. A success of the vintage. Jean-Marc Quarin - www.quarin.com
