This wine is drinking beautifully at this time. Rounded flavors, full of fruit, with tannins mellowed out. I'm guessing it is pretty much at its peak right now.

This lower pedigree wine represents undeniable quality/value rapport in 2005. This vintage is so deep in quality among the better run, less heralded estates, that these wines should appeal to readers looking for terrific values from Bordeaux. Most of... Winemaker's Notes:

A 40ha estate on commune of Saint-Christoly de Medoc, in an eviable location towards the Northern end of the Medoc, at the edge of the Gironde. Owned and run by Madame and Monsieur Merlet-Lafon, the vineyards at Château Tour St. Bonne are exposed on the best gravelly croups of the commune and are maintained in a traditional way (not using chemical weed control). They produce roughly 200 barrels of excellent wine each year which is particularly renowned for its smooth appeal and its intense bouquet. “Reminiscent of a mini-Grand Puy Lacoste with its cassis fruit, attractive aromatics, lush, sweet, medium-bodied flavors, and inky/ruby/purple color, the 2005 Tour St.-Bonnet sells for a fraction of the price of the Grand-Puy-Lacoste. But beggars can’t be that choosy, right? Drink it over the next 5-7 years.” 88 points - Robert Parker
