Chateau Thieuley Bordeaux Blanc 2009

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

The nose of this appealing white Bordeaux is only a prelude to its flavors of lemon zest, quince and tangy lemon meringue pie. The Sauvignon Blanc is softened and fleshed-out a bit by an equal percentage of Semillon, which gives the wine a more rounded texture. Dry, fresh and crisp with a fresh minerality reminiscent of a spring rain on stone, the wine finishes with lively and persistent acidity. For sipping with friends accompanying mild cheeses and with an almost limitless variety of seafood and chicken preparations.

Exotic notes of flowers and beeswax emanate from nose of this delicious white Bordeaux. Passion fruit and Meyer lemon dominate the palate with a richness that sneaks up on you.

Pale straw-yellow with gold highlights. Lovely sauvignon aromas of green fig, honeydew and flint. Bright, clean and fresh on entry, then weightier in the middle than the nose suggests, offering bright, clean flavors of tropical fruits, tangerine and fresh herbs. Finishes with lively acidity that lifts the clean if slightly simple flavors. This should be great with shellfish, or with dishes featuring asparagus or artichoke.
