User Reviews for Chateau Tahbilk Cabernet Sauvignon Nagambie Lakes

Winemaker's Notes:

Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of Australia’s most historic wineries and vineyard plantings extend back to Tahbilk's founding with original pre-phylloxera Shiraz vines still surviving from 1860. The Purbrick family have owned the Tahbilk Estate since 1925 and continue the family tradition with Alister Purbrick as head winemaker and his daughter Hayley, a 5th generation family member. This wine has been fermented using traditional Tahbilk techniques and was aged in French oak for 18 months. The nose and palate exhibit an intense mixture of eucalypt and spice combined with blackberry undertones, whilst the finish is long, flavoursome and which is balanced by fine tannins. This wine is excellent with casseroles and tagines as well as pungent washed rind cheeses.
