Food Pairings for Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling Columbia Valley Cold Creek Vineyard
Editorial Reviews for Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling Columbia Valley Cold Creek Vineyard
Smells icy cool with notes of mineral dust, green melon and super precise pollen flowers on the nose, along with a hint of Middle Eastern spice. Fairly sweet in the mouth, this retains enough acidity to keep things lively if not terribly bright. The fruit is rich, with notes of melon and pears wrapped in a slightly treacle-edged blanket. The acidity helps add a touch of spicy green citrus zest on the back end but then the finish sort of just fades away in a lightly sweetened, bitter citrus pith fog. 86pts
Vineyard staff picked Riesling grapes over a four week period. This resulted in varying sweetness levels in the Riesling fruit that came into the cellar, giving the winemaker more blending options to work with. A cool fermentation was used to preserve varietal character.
Our Cold Creek Riesling offers flavors of ripe peach and tropical fruit with a refined elegance. It is a rich style of Riesling, characteristic of our Cold Creek Vineyard, that reveals a crisp and refreshing finish.
