Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling Columbia Valley 2008
Our Columbia Valley Riesling is a mélange of Riesling from throughout Washington’s Columbia Valley. We craft it to be a refreshing, off-dry Riesling vintage after vintage. The wine delivers sweet lime and peach character with subtle mineral notes. This is our “every day Riesling” that is a pleasure to drink and easy to match with a variety of foods.
Editorial Reviews for Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling Columbia Valley
A very floral nose full of orange blossoms, honeysuckle, sweet lemon, peach and raspberry tones, a very pretty nose, just a hint of lemon verbena, a touch hot - huge acids but fairly sweet as well, not showing great integration, some floral tones, then figgy and fleshy with a bit of apple butter and a touch of tea before finishing with fairly intense sweet peaches and lingering lemony acidity. 86pts
The nose is a bit tight, but there are notes of citrus, floral , and stone. Mandarin orange predominates the palate along with a bit of peach. Off dry, with a finish longer than I expected.
This crisp white riesling has been one of my everyday wines. Not too sweet, with a hint of citrus and no strong after taste. Served cold in the colmbia basin summer nights, it is quite refreshening. The local liquor store carries it for about $7.
Bright green apples on the nose. Sweet, sweet apples in the mouth. Sweet works well with this wine, but its inconsistent from the nose.
A beautifully clear wine. Soft oranges on the nose. Crisp, peachy, and a semi-dry finish. I like this.
haven't had riesling in quite some time. this one's nice, just a tad sweet & perfect for a warm, sunny afternoon.
Not too sweet, pear; pairs well with grilled pork chops
Semi-sweet, crisp, light, fruity, a bit of citrus tartness. Good flavoring.

Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. Clean, quiet and fairly dry in direction, this lively, slightly spritzy nod to South Australia Riesling is rather low-keyed in fruit, but its essential lightness and spry balance point the way to useful service when washing down the milder white-fleshed fish dishes.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
Ripe and effusive, with pretty pear and citrus flavors, finishing off-dry. Drink now. 669,400 cases made. -HS
