User Reviews for Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling Columbia Valley
Add your reviewGreen apple and citrus nose, then a burst of a fresh fruit basket on the mouth: peaches, apricots, green apple and citrus. Somewhat sweet, but a nice balance with the alcohol and acidity. Light, very drinkable, and tasty.
One of my favorites! Fruity without being too sweet, smooth, crisp finish. So easy to drink. Wonderful wine for sharing with family and friends!
12% ABV. A little mineral and stone, with slight home perm and petrol in nose and a little spritz. Flavors of sea salt and grapefruit, with a slight metallic finish. Ver light color. More angular than a Moselle, and a little heavier on the palate. Definite WA state style. Very nice and one of the best examples of WA Riesling I've had.
his is perhaps the largest volume Riesling in the world and with just cause. Peaches, Apricots and Honey shine in this sweet Riesling. Although mass-produced by our friends at the Chateau, this particular vintage showcases the highlights of the Washington state Riesling grape in its prime. Grown in the same locale as Washington state Peaches and Aprictos, this white finishes rather sweet but pleasing and very approachable. Over the past 2-3 years the stone fruit aromatics have slowly faded, leading to a slight honeysuckle and sugarcane zip. Subsequent vintages surprisingly show more of a mineral and bitter almond note yet still feature the stonefruit way upfront.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine ReviewRated 90Smelling of green peach, lime, flowers and wet rocks, this exceptionally well made Riesling smacks in many ways of a fine Mosel Kabinett. Its slight sweetness is balanced by a fine streak of bright acids, and, like the best of its German cousins, it is at once both rich and fairly bright. It is a thoroughly enjoyable drink right now, but it has the structure to keep well and gain in complexity for a good many years.Wine Tasting NotesThis is the debut of our Indian Wells Riesling. At Chateau Ste. Michelle we are passionate about Riesling and are pleased to add this tropical style of Riesling to our diverse Riesling line up. The 2005 Indian Wells Riesling exhibits fruit-driven aromas of ripe, juicy pineapple, peach and mango and is rich and unctuous, while maintaining a crisp, well-balanced style that is typical of Washington state Riesling.
Soft, delicate and appealing for its pretty pear and floral aromas and flavors, lingering on the off-dry finish. Drink now. 443,000 cases made.
This is ripe tropical style of Riesling which comes from the warm Wahluke Slope region of eastern Washington. The Indian Wells Riesling exhibits fruit-driven aromas of juicy pineapple and mango. The wine is rich and unctuous while maintaining a fresh elegant style that is typical of Washington state Riesling.
Winemaker's Notes:
The magical combination of sun, soil and water--the "terrior" of Washington state's world class growing reguion makes it the North American home of premium Riesling. We strive for the classic expression of this variety, with peach, ripe apricot and citrus flavors. A long, cool fermentation preserves the crispness of our wine. Always refreshing. Always a crowd-pleaser.
