Nice green herb nose with a touch of chili accenting the grapefruity tone that rise above a spicy, perfumed floral tone on the nose. This is fairly rich in the mouth, almost lush yet with vibrant acids that keep the wine from overwhelming the palate. The flavors are deep and fresh, redolent of peach with hints of lime and orange zest. The finish is crisp and fairly long with a nice fruity finale. A bolder style of Sauvignon that remains quite fruit driven without leaning too heavily to the grassy end of the spectrum 90pts

The 1996 Horse Heaven Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc (made with 23% Sèmillon) has a crème brulée, vanilla, and lemon-laced nose. This fresh, rich, silky-textured, and medium-bodied wine is filled with tangy and bright citrus fruits. It should be drunk over the next year.

A vivid spectrum of aromas greets the nose - ripe pear, melon and underlying notes of bright citrus. Crisp acids and flavors of apple emerge elegantly on the palate. Heaven for horses though it may be, a small slice of heaven it bestows upon me.

A refreshing wine with good acidity and bracing citrus and rhubarb fruit. The finish is fairly long and balanced.

Lime, grapefruit zest and pear aromas precede a spicy oak note and a nice, round texture. The bright acidity of this cool vintage gives the wine an appealing crispness and long, fresh aftertaste.

Another beautiful rendering of succulent Sauvignon Blanc from this premier vineyard, offering fresh, ripe fruit, scents of grapefruit, citrus peel, melon and lemon wax. There's a nice, spicy lift to the palate, though the finish is not quite as rich and extended as the incredible '99.
