Wine Advocate ReviewRated 90The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Cold Creek Vineyard is 100% Cabernet and was aged in 81% new oak. The brooding aromas deliver elements of pain grille, pencil lead, assorted black fruits, and plum. Firm and elegant, with ample spicy flavors, it will develop for 3-4 years and drink well from 2012 to 2020. Wine Tasting NotesCabernet from this 30-year-old vineyard always delivers power, structure and rich concentrated black fruit. I have tried to harness this power into something a little friendlier in the first few years of release, while not taking away from its inherent ability to age...literally wanting my cake and eating it too! Concentrated aromas of pomegranates, blueberries, cocoa and molasses lead to a rich mid-palate with loads of dark chocolate on the finish. This is a classic Cold Creek Vineyard and classic Washington Cabernet. Try prime rib or even lamb with this Cab. There is no limit to the foods that will match this great wine.

Cabernet from this 30-year-old vineyard always delivers power structure and rich concentrated black fruit. offers dense aromas of boysenberry and brown sugar spice with layers of fruit with nicely integrated yet very age-worthy tannins.

Winemaker's Notes:

Château Ste. Michelle is Washington state’s Founding Winery, with some of the oldest and most acclaimed vineyards in the Columbia Valley. Built on the 1912 estate owned by Seattle lumber baron Frederick Stimson, the winery’s roots date back to the Repeal of Prohibition, when the Pommerelle Wine Company and the National Wine Company were formed. The winery combines Old World winemaking tradition with New World innovation and is best known for its award-winning Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Columbia Valley Caberbet is characterised by concentrated red fruit which mingles with cocoa and spice notes in a complex and accessible wine.
