Nose is mossy and earthy with the funk of old world style wine. On the palate, stringent red berry fruit with flinty mineral tones. It's a tad stemmy and possessing big tannins. Reasonably good but very dry and woody. Time should help. 85 pts. 8/12/11 at Winery

The Vineyard at Canoe Ridge Estate was planted in 1991 by our vineyard manager Mimi Nye and the Canoe Ridge Estate winery was built in 1993 to accommodate our growing world-class red wine portfolio.
Supple, ripe and generous, with a black pepper note weaving harmoniously through the focused black cherry and toast flavors that push through fine tannins on the refined finish. Drink now through 2016.
