What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

TASTING NOTES"We craft our Columbia Valley Riesling to be an inviting, refreshing, off-dry Riesling vintage after vintage. This Riesling consistently delivers classic Washington state Riesling character of juicy peach, apricot, ripe pear, melon, with subtle mineral notes. This is our "every day Riesling" that is a pleasure to drink and easy to match with a variety of foods." -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker VINTAGE 2006 was a year of extremes in weather. A cooler than normal, wet spring was followed by a very long, hot summer. The weather was nearly ideal during the growing read more...

Reviews

his is perhaps the largest volume Riesling in the world and with just cause.

Peaches, Apricots and Honey shine in this sweet Riesling.

Although mass-produced by our friends at the Chateau, this particular vintage showcases the highlights of the Washington state Riesling grape in its prime. Grown in the same locale as Washington state Peaches and Aprictos, this white finishes rather sweet but pleasing and very approachable.

Over the past 2-3 years the stone fruit aromatics have slowly faded, leading to a slight honeysuckle and sugarcane zip.

Bright and fruity, striking a nice balance among the peaches and cream flavors, lively acidity and touch of sweetness. Drink now.350,000 cases made.
Wine Enthusiast Rated 90. This is a limited edition (about 7000 cases) wine that is mainly sold in the Northwest. The aromas are of lemon wax, light blossom and apricot. Lots of flavor springs from a textured, almost creamy mouthfeel. Very fresh and inviting.

Goldgelb. Herrliche Fruchtaromatik. Angenehm weicher Auftakt. Wunderschön balanciert bis in den fülligen Abgang.

Green apple and citrus nose, then a burst of a fresh fruit basket on the mouth: peaches, apricots, green apple and citrus. Somewhat sweet, but a nice balance with the alcohol and acidity. Light, very drinkable, and tasty.
