What to Expect
Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.
Editorial Reviews
The nose here is subtle and seductive with notes of eggshell, lime leaf, butchers wax, and a wildflower sweetness tat is seductive. A leaner style in the mouth, really taut and focused with intense notes of very fresh orange, peach, pear and papaya fruits that even have a suggestion of red berry. A bit soft on the backend yet with great freshness to the slightly exotic tropical fruit flavors. The finish is a little light with a hint of mineral and hazelnut adding complexity. Very nice stuff 92pts

WS 89pts. - According to the Wine Spectator: Lithe and refreshing, this brims with lemony pear and floral flavors, picking up a stony note as the finish rolls on. Drink now through 2011. 12,000 cases made. Winemaker Notes - The Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay is inherently vibrant, refined and elegant and we like to enhance that style in the cellar. This Chardonnay delivers fresh apple, pear and spice aromas and flavors. The finish is elegant and refined with light spice notes, which are a result of the restrained French oak treatment.
