This "bottom tier" Pinot from Chateau St. Jean is really quite impressive for the price. Varietal character is excellent, with a firm core of dark cherry and plum flavors, subtle spiciness, and attractive rose-like floral notes. If these characteristics were paired with a bit more depth, this would be a gem. Even so, extremely fairly priced for a Pinot Noir of this quality.

A young and bitter wine with a hot and harsh finish. Any fruit (unripened cherry) that might reach the palate is quickly destroyed by the alcohol. This wine should be taken as a shot then chased with something mild like vodka.

Parker rated the 2006 vintage at 89. I bought the '07 vintage for $11.99 and greatly enjoyed its sprightly fruit flavor and freshness. I will be buying more.

Rich, chocolaty style, a bit heavy-handed, with herb, currant and wild berry flavors that are dense, oaky and a bit earthy. Drink now through 2005.

Youthful and inviting, this Pinot Noir displays lovely aromas of raspberry, cherry and plum as well as hints of rose and leather. The palate offers jammy fruit flavors and round tannins that give a creamy texture and a long fruit-driven finish.

Wine Tasting NotesThis easy drinking Fum Blanc explodes with bright, fresh fruit aromas of citrus, ripe melon, peach and dried herbs. A crisp entry leads into flavors of nectarine, tarragon and lemon zest integrated with spicy vanilla oak and comes to a well-balanced refreshing finish.

Lots of ripe, juicy plum, blackberry and wild berry flavors upfront turn smooth and creamy, showing a trace of heat on the finish. Drink now.

This Fumé Blanc is bright and fresh. Showing notes of grapefruit, lemongrass, and jasmine, this wine will pair well with grilled chicken and seafood dishes.

Crisp and refreshing, this Fume Blanc offers fragrant aromas of green tea, lemongrass and lemon meringue pie. Flavors of grapefruit, spice and wet stone combine with lively acidity, creating a beautifully balanced wine with a lingering lemon zest finish.
