Chateau St. Jean Fume Blanc 2004
Enticing aromas of lemongrass, grapefruit zest, crane melon and hints of nutmeg begin the nose on this Fume Blanc. Racy acidity and bright fruit flavors of Meyer lemons and green apples on the mouth awake the palate. A surprisingly refreshing mid-palate layers the mouth with creamy vanilla notes and hints of key lime and kiwi. A beautiful, long, lemony finish makes this wine an easy match for many dishes.
Pale straw in color. Aromas of smoke and citrus. Round taste of melons, oak, citrus, and pear on the palate. Good QPR, if a little disjointed. Advise opening a bit before serving and letting some of the initially strong oak settle down a bit.
