A powerful red made from Syrah and Grenache from the Minervois, in the heart of the Languedoc region of Southern France.

Deep violet color. Aromatic delicious red berries grown on a calcar soil with excellent orientation. Medium-bodied with delicious fruit (raspberries and black cherries); smooth tannins; and power. Long finish on fruit. Can be cellared for 2 to 3 years; ideal with red meats, game, or cheese.

All the wines from the region are a blend of Syrah and Grenache, the two varietals which do so well there. La Cantilène refers to a monastic song that the troubadours sang in the medieval times. This wine spends 14 months in barriques of which 1/3 are new. It also received One Star in the new Hachette Guide. Deep violet color. Aromatic delicious red berries grown on a calcar soil with excellent orientation. Medium-bodied with delicious fruit (raspberries and black cherries); read more...
