Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

A sleeper, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts wonderfully pure cassis fruit, less wood than its siblings, loads of concentration, and a long, heady finish with considerable purity, depth, and length. Drink this beauty during its first 15 years of life.

Firm and focused, with moderately concentrated plum, spice, and currant flavors extending into a lively finish. Could be richer, but has a future. Best after 1994.

A touch rustic and firmly tannic, it offers a range of earthy currant, anise, herb, sage and cedar flavors that are well-proportioned. Drink now through 2006.

Winemaker Notes - This classic Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon others intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry, chocolate, cedar and baking spices. On the palate, flavors of chocolate, cloves, ginger, cigar box and lavender are perfectly balanced by velvet textured tannins, which lead to a long elegant finish. this wine will shine on its own or paired with juicy prime steaks or Black forest cake. this Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful introduction to Alexander Valley.

As a result of a long, cool growing season, this elegant Cabernet Sauvignon shows deep, dark color and chocolate and cherry-vanilla aromas on the nose. A round, supple mouth begins with black cherry and coffee that leads to subtle notes of dried herb, vanilla and bittersweet chocolate that lasts throughout a long oak finish.

Supple, with a mix of ripe currant, plum, herb, green olive, cedar and exotic spice. Well-focused, with a pleasant sense of harmony and finesse, it caresses the palate, ending on a ripe, complex note. Best of three bottles. Drink now through 2010.
