Chateau Souverain Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
"Beautiful ruby color, aromatics of black cherry, plum and currant as well as an opulent, accessible mouth feel for which we are known. The combination of two types of oak has also layered subtle nuances of vanilla, fresh roast coffee, and brown spices. This balanced wine offers a well-structured mouthfeel and soft, fine-grained, supple tannins that contribute to a long toasty oak finish. This Cab is round, balanced and inviting." ~Winemaker, Ed Killian CRITICAL ACCLAIM ♦ RATED 89-91, The Most Promising 2003 California Cabernets - Wine Spectator "Zesty, vibrant, concentrated blackberry, wild berry and huckleberry, with a dash of spicy, toasty oak. This wine exhibits fine raw material and could well end up outstanding." 7/1/04 BLEND 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 3% Syrah, 1% Petite Sirah

Purchased 12/06 for $15. Has been cellared for 2.5 years. At first, strong bell pepper and cassis aromas. As the wine opens up, there is plum, cassis, and oak and the vegetal aromas fade. Lush, with a cinnamon-inflected finish. Pretty impressive for the price paid, with nice complexity and not over-the-top in style.
Very smooth! Black fruit, tannins & oak. Would be great with a steak!
strong choolate, black cherry, and vanilla flavors wth velvety lingering finish. Excellent choice for entertaining friends/family.
