Chateau Smith Havt Lafitte Graves 2008
- Show All (68)
In Bordeaux tradition, a white was tasted last in a string of 2008 tastings. Beautiful floral nose. Rich mouth-feel, layered with Tropical fruit, citrus, and minerality. Good acidity on a medium plus finish. A white that should age incredibly well with a storage life of 10-30 years, but showing well already. 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Semillion, 5% Sauvignon Gris. 93 points.
Racy and sweet with depth of perfume on the nose. Good balance of sweetness and power, with flower, chocolate, fruit, and soil throughout the palate. Medium finish. 91 points.
Sehr muskulös, typische vegetale Noten im Gaumen. Ab in den Keller!

An elegant wine, smooth and rounded, bringing out smoky fruits over tannins that smooth out as the fruit unfolds. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2018.
Big and tannic, this needs time. Lots of red berries and floral character on nose and palate. Full-bodied, with a slightly hollow midpalate at the moment. Very tannic, with an extracted, mouthpuckering finish. Try after 2002.

This expressive red shows intensity with grace, balancing pure black cherry, mineral and tobacco flavors with toasty oak and fresh acidity. The tannins are firm but ripe, fading to a floral, smoky finish. Drink now through 2018.-T.M. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Smith-Haut-Lafitte 750ml
The 2008 Smith-Haut-Lafitte, which is somewhat reminiscent of the brilliant 1998, exhibits sweet cassis, tobacco leaf, earth, and barbecue characteristics in its complex aromatics. The wine reveals ripe, supple tannin, medium to full body, gorgeous f... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Smith-Haut-Lafitte 750ml
