Château Segonzac Red Bordeaux Blend Premières Côtes de Blaye 2000

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

This is one of the reliable favorites from Candocirc;tes de Blaye, the region on the right bank of the Gironde estuary around the pretty city of Blaye, opposite St.-Julien. Two red wines are produced: the Tradition. which is aged only in tank and the Vieilles Vignes, a smooth toasty wine aged in wood, with black currant fruit flavors.

Minister of Agriculture under the 3rd Republic, it is also the origin of the newspaper "Le Petit Parisien. Busy with his business, he confides to his daughter Micheline Dupuy, a talented writer. Then in 1990, the latter decided to sell our property and moved to Paris. Then Mr. Jacques Marmet, a Swiss manufacturer, fell on the announcement of our sale. Fascinated by my architecture and my history, fascinated by the delicious product that my sisters are the vines each year, he bought the property! Ten years later, I met his daughter Charlotte and her husband Thomas Herter . Both of them came with their two children Belinda and Joel, not to mention the dog "Ballou"! Make your accounts, how long had I not heard an explosion of joy, shouting and barking! Okay I do not understand a word of their language, but it would come with time ... A new era began for me a makeover ... so it is with enthusiasm that I opened my doors to the family. Read less

Firm and dense, with admirable structure as well as concentrated fruit, the medium to full-bodied, ripe, impressive 2000 Vieilles Vignes will drink well for 5andndash;6 years.

Old World in style, with earthy spice and rustic saddle leather aromas. Quite concentrated and powerful with extracted black cherry, currant and wild berry flavors. Full-bodied, dry and muscular.
