Aromas of blackberries and green coffee on the nose. Full body, with fine tannins that are super polished and gorgeous. Refined and caressing. Best in 2018. James Suckling. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Sansonnet 750ml

This is a step up, with very plush layers of raspberry and blackberry confiture and plum sauce, liberally framed by a strong graphite note. Lots of black tea and toasty spice are inlaid on the finish, which sports some serious grip for the cellar. Best from 2014 through 2025.

A deep, full-bodied, powerful wine with notes of forest floor, creme de cassis, blackberries, fig and flowers, some spicy, smoky subtle oak appears in the background along with licorice and underbrush. Dense, full-bodied, rich, layered and impressive, this sumptuously textured, thick, juicy wine is already showing well and should continue to drink well for up to 15 or more years.

Concentrated, rich and chewy, with an almost porty ripeness but good mid-palate energy to its plush dark... Stephen Tanzers IWC. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Sansonnet 750ml

I have never cared for previous vintages of Sansonnet, but I enjoyed the 2009 on several occasions. St.-Emilion's significant hail damage in May, 2009, led to Sansonnet's incredibly low yields of 9 hectoliters per hectare. The dense purple-colored 20... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
