What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

Eroica is the result of a special partnership of German and American winemakers to craft an extraordinary Riesling from Washington state grapes. This is more than a blend of two estates, Dr. Loosen from the Mosel and Chateau Ste. Michelle from the Columbia Valley: Its an intermingling of Old World and New World philosophy and technique. Named for Beethovens Third Symphony, Eroica is truly a concert of Old World and New World Riesling.TASTING NOTESChateau Ste. Wine Skinny

If you only try one of these wines, make it this one from Washington's prolific Chateau Ste. Michelle. Ripe apricot mingles with juicy citrus, with a silky texture and a final burst of spice and more citrus length. Ready to drink now and over the next three years.

Definite Dr. Loosen Mosel style, off-dry but with that great big Eastern Washington fruit which Mosel region annot produce most years. A very fine Reisling for about $20. Chateus St. Michelle did a wise thing by doing this joint venture with one of Mosel's finest newer producers.
