What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Reviews

I'm quite fond of this Riesling. This particular vintage is expensive, but many other vintages are far more reasonably priced. This wine is light, bright, tangy. When serving it a dinner party, guests found delicate hints of green apple and lime flavors very appealing. For those not familiar with the wine maker, Ernst Loosen (it's pronounced Low-zen) is a the dean of German Rieslings, a notably eccentric and celebrated wine maker and it is a coup for Château Ste. Michelle to partner with him to make exceptionally good wine.

Rich peach and apricot aromas melded with mineral and floral notes. Mouthwatering acidity. Honeysuckle and citrus peel on the palate.
