What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

This Cold Creek Chardonnay shows off the power and depththat typifies the vineyard. Fruit flavors of baked apples andlemon meringue open this wine. A slightly higherpercentage of new oak was used because it gives this wine nicely integratedsmoke and toast flavors on the finish. The structure and acidityinsure a long life for those who choose to set down theirChardonnays a few years. Food pairings: Seafood risotto, salmon, veal

As usual, one of Washington’s finest vineyards yields a Chardonnay that appeals to fans of both the fruit-forward style and somewhat oaky style. It hits the nose with citrus, huge butterscotch, some wood, lanolin and a touch of figs, followed by flavors of more citrus, especially lemon, good acidity, a rich mouth feel and a long, fresh finish
