What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

"The warmth of the Wahluke Slope consistently produces Chardonnays with an appealing tropical fruit character. The 2005 Indian Wells Chardonnay is no exception. The 2005 version has slightly better acidity than previous vintages and gives the wine a nice crisp balance to go along with the tropical characters. A perfect wine with scallops, scampi or pasta with slightly richer sauces." Bob Bertheau, winemaker"Overall the 2005 vintage produced wines of great structure andcharacter. The Chardonnays are rich and ripe with very goodacidity and 'grip.'" Winery Notes

Reviews

I little light, but then again it is a Washington Chardonnay. Nice color (perhaps a little light), soft and sweet with an apple nose. Light on the oak (a good thing). Buttered popcorn and grass flavors and an almost non-existant finish. Gone before I could spit... But I didn't.

Decent Chardonnay at a decent price. Light and good for everyday occasions.

Supple and juicy texture features creamy pear and white pepper flavors, which echo pleasantly on the finish.
A big and friendly wine, with plenty of forward fruit mingling flavors of citrus, apples and pears. There is a nice blast of vanilla too, the only obvious sign of new oak aging, but the impression overall is of crisp, clean elegance. Best Buy.

The warmth of the Wahluke Slope consistently produces Chardonnays with an appealing tropical fruit character. The 2005 Indian Wells Chard is no exception. The wine delivers pineapple and mango aromas along with hints of fresh red apples and ripe apricots. The 2005 version has slightly better acidity than previous vintages and gives the wine a nice crisp balance to go along with the tropical characters. A perfect wine with scallops, scampi or pasta with slightly richer sauces.

I found this wine to be a little "hot"

Always a good value, this Washington St. Chardonnay has lots of buttery richness and intense fruit flavors. A nice match with full-flavored fish and poultry.
