Clos Saint-Martin is a consistently brilliant wine from one of St.-Emilions smallest vineyards (adjacent to the cemetery of all places). It always reeks of crushed rocks powdered chalk, sweet black cherries, cassis, and beautifully integrated wood as well as tannin. Its kirsch liqueur-like component and large-scaled personality are reminiscent of Pomerols majestic Lafleur.

Winemaker's Notes:

"Clear straw color. Simple white fruit, citrus and a hint of almond; a "vinous" character suggests higher alcohol than the label's 13% would provide. Fresh, medium-bodied, seems richer and more complex on the palate than the nose with melon and delicate citrus with a hint of beeswax over tart acidity. The subtle flavors and sharp acidity work particularly well with the mixed toppings and cheese on an excellent veggie pizza." - Robin Garr, WineLoversPage.comCheese Pairings: French CamembertFood Pairings: Seafood, Primavera Pizza, Sinbad's Chicken Salad
