Château Saint Martin de la Garrigue Coteaux du Languedoc 2004

Member Review by lamarr:

Color: true ruby, a little cloudy, Nose: a little musty, perhaps a raspberry, not the darkest fruit I’ve smelled, Hector: “Coffee, like straight coffee,” Taste: peppery on the palate, slight acidity, keeps it crisp, maybe raspberry, possibly cherry, Hector: “very earthy,” 2/3rds tannins, medium-bodied, bit watery, a bit of a let down when it comes to power, but I guess that’s what separates French wines from American/Australian wines, short finish fruitwise, but lingering pepper and spice, nice spice, Hector: “I don’t taste any fruit at all.” Lamarr: B+ 86.7 (may get again, decent wine, but not worth drinking on it’s own, would pair well with food because it would not overpower the dish). Hector: B (interesting tasting, different, not my favorite, but interesting)
