The wine that got me into loving wine. Before this, it was only CA reds and they all made me cringe. I thought I'd never like wine until I met my father in law who happens to live in Paris. I can't give this wine a just review, because I'm so new. It's just very, very smooth, full bodied, quality wine from the grapes in France. Maybe as I continue to taste and smell other reds, I can appreciate more what I tasted in this wine.

About the producer: The terroir of Château Rauzan-Gassies lies exclusively on the glacial gravel of Margaux and Cantenac, overlooking the Gironde river. The excellent drainage of this soil makes it ideal for an elite vineyard. The gravel along the river is a sanctuary for Margaux vineyards, that were already reputed in the Middle Ages. All the Château Rauzan-Gassies terroirs are part of the "Historical Margaux", and were planted with vines long before 1855.
