Château Puy-Blanquet Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru 2005

Member Review by lyinsan:

This is a wine that deserves to cellar for a few more years in order to reach its full potential. The black pepper and seared-steak flavours are strong, and will continue to blend and mature, hopefully balancing out the delicate black fruits of this vintage. The tannins are incredibly soft, creating a precarious balance with the acid. Overall, a wonderful wine that will be enjoyable for a long time to come.

Tasting Notes:

Dark plums on the nose with a bit of spice and some blackberry fruit in the mouth. Hints of umami through the finish. Nice tannin structure.
