Chateau Puisseguin la Rigodrie Saint-Emilion 2009

Member Review by benjamindehoog:

Not a fruit bomb! Thank god. French oak. Decently strong aroma (Franc). Nice bit of damp fresh black soil from compost, slight truffle, slight violet/rose. Taste raspberry, cassis, methoxypyrazine, black cherry, tobacco, coffee bean, slightly less than fully ripe grape. stem and barrel wood with counteracting ripe fruit and minute tannin. not overly alcoholic. really solid not a disappointment.
