Lovely bouquet. Decanted 15 minutes before serving. We chose to enjoy this wine before dinner. Upon initial taste, fragrance was lush and full of promise, but taste was completely closed. 15 minutes later the flavors really began to come forth - plum and an almost peppery essence were the standouts. 45 minutes after the decant the flavor had truly come into its own. A very enjoyable wine. I am glad I still have one bottle left.

The wine has passed its prime and is on its way down. Still enjoyed the bottle, but nose and taste were more medicinal. Fruit was substantially less than bottle drunk in February. If you have any of these around, I wouldn't hold them much longer.

Dark ruby with a moderately intense aroma of ripe black currants herbs cedar and oak this is a full-bodied fleshy yet supple Prieure with a long rich softly tannic finish. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted 4/90. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
