Château Pradeaux Bandol 2004

Member Review by The Gourmet Bachelor:

dark crimson, viscous, beautiful, balance, cherry skin, dirt, violet, moss, shallot uhm, strange wine...I've only tasted excellent rose and ripe, delicious, ready-to-drink red wine from this region. I need to try more wine from Bandol. This wine is ready to drink today. It's on the same level as many second-growth Bordeaux.

Longue Garde is meant for long aging. This is a powerful wine, complex and challenging, with enormous sweet, grainy tannins. When it opens, it has aromas of flowers and herbs that can fill a room.

There is the appellation of Bandol with its plethora of producers, some good, some mediocre; and then there is Chateau Pradeaux, the unique, inimitable, standard bearer for this ancient wine-growing district.
