Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

A bit astringent on the nose with notes of iron and toasted oak accenting the slightly roasted black cherry fruit. Soft and silky on entry this shows of some crisp tannins with a savory edged core of bitter cherry fruit. There’s good complexity here and the fruit powers right through the bright finish. Nice depth and complexity, certainly not the best wine here but one that is ready and delicious. 88pts

Notes of sour cherry, cedar shanks, plum and blackberry on the nose - very Medoc. Entry is smooth, with degrading, silky oak and rich Cabernet Sauvignon cassis predominating. Finish is quite long and satisfying, if just a tad sour. Ready now; holding is not required for improvement. Good value. 88 points

tasted 4/2012, Probably could use a bit more cellar time, but very french (i,e, subtle) but presents with lovely fruit and sublime finish once it has enough air.

Perhaps the finest Potensac made since the 1982, the 2008 is undoubtedly a sleeper of the vintage. Harvested between October 4-16, this blend of 42% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18% Cabernet Franc was fashioned from modest yields of 44 hectoli... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Fresh and pure with a friendly beam of raspberry and black cherry fruit pushed gently by mineral and tobacco hints on the open-knit finish. Drink now. 19 166 cases made. -JM Wine Spectator.

Winemaker's Notes:

"Sweet plum, deep cherry and currant notes as well as underbrush and earthiness are all present in this elegant, mid-weight wine, which has good freshness, decent acidity, and ripe tannin. It should drink nicely for up to 7-8 years." --Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
