Located in the Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, Ch. Potensac is proof again of the defunct nature of the 1855 classification. Potensac regularly puts out "classed" wine but maintains the label of "Cru Bourgeois". Some may argue that it's all for better to allow for accessibility.

The history of Ch. Poujeaux can be traced back to the 16th century, when what was then called La Salle de Poujeaux was under the ownership of Gaston De L'Isle, who also owned Ch. Latour and built the impressive, turreted Ch. de la Rivière. This is a classically styled Bordeaux with dark fruit, nutty and spicy characteristics, and a long, dry finish.
