Rating: 0/5 - As reviewed by Decanter Deep red; closed nose; dense, concentrated, tannic, but splendid fruit, powerful wine with great potential; good length.

Had this with Christmas dinner '08. It was closed at first but opened up to very nice fruit, lots of subtle spice, cedar, and great fruit. Loved it.

Impressive purple color, ripe cassis fruit, full body and a rich intense finish.

Rating: 91/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 84, May/June 1999 Deep ruby-red. Blackcurrant, plum, tobacco and black olive nose is more complex and serious than that of either of the foregoing vintages. Thick, grapey and concentrated; still quite primary. This shows the fat and depth of the '96 vintage in the northern Medoc. Finishes long, with substantial tannins. Impressive.
