Château Plince Red Bordeaux Blend Pomerol 2009

Member Review by dbhonig:

Dark purple color. The nose had a lot of fruit, including blueberries, blackberries and black currants, plus vanilla and sage. However, the fruit disappeared on the palate, which was overwhelming with vanilla and creme broulet. Oak quite simply took over and blew the fruit away.

Master of Wine Clive Coats had this to say about the 2008 Chateau Plince: 'Ample, rich, almost over-ripe nose. Medium body. Good grip. Lovely black fruit. This is a lovely, seductive wine. Very good for a bourgeois Pomerol.' A blend of 72% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, this Bordeaux is known and recognized today by amateurs and professionals as a quality Bordeaux.
