Concentrated. Medium-ruby color, with ripe plum, cigar tobacco and smoke aromas. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long finish. Still closed, almost clumsy. Give it time.--1990 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2005.

Winemaker's Notes:

2eme Cru Classe. One of Pauillac’s most outstanding wines with admirable consistency. It uses a larger than usual blend of Merlot (along with Château Palmer). The wines are soft and fleshy.
